Vision and Building Process

As the church struggled to recover after the devastating fire in March 2012, the congregation held three summit meetings in Fall 2012 to establish a vision for the future.  The result was the following vision statement:

Ada First United Methodist Church exists to live the life of Christ in fellowship with God's community and to cultivate the seeds of hope for the future.

Building Our Vision - Capital Campaign

A three-year capital campaign was launched in 2013 to support the construction of the new building.  To learn more about the campaign, entitled "Building Our Vision", click here.  The construction phase began in Spring 2014, and we are worshiping in the new building as of March 2015!  We are grateful to report that the entire building project of $6.25 million was paid off in full in Dec. 2016.  Thank you!

We are grateful for the vision of the RCM Architects firm and the construction execution by Thomas & Marker Construction.  Feel free to view the 2014 construction by visiting our archived weekly pictures.

Legacy Book

Ada First has been blessed by the financial donations to support the rebuilding of the church structure  The congregation pledged over $700,000 in the capital campaign towards the construction of the new building, and the community and friends of the church also made financial donations via the church office, Liberty National Bank, or the West Ohio Conference of the UMC.   The church maintained a Legacy Book to record the names of those who have financially supported the rebuilding of Ada First United Methodist Church.  The Legacy Book is on display in the church gathering area and will continue to be updated as financial gifts are received.  If you notice any errors in the book, please contact the church office at 419-634-4626 or send an email to
