On Sunday, May 20, Sunday school and worship will be held at the Ohio Northern University English Chapel. Even though there is a commencement for the College of Law on the campus, our typical Sunday School and worship schedule will occur in the English Chapel. Sunday School is at 9:15 and worship is at 10:30.

Thanks to the generosity of Ohio Northern University, Sunday services for Ada First United Methodist Church will worship at the ONU's English Chapel (please see building 13 on the map below).
Sunday School for all ages along with nursery childcare will be held in the classrooms of the Burgett Pavillion, attached to the chapel. (Please see building 3 on the map below.)
Worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel.

A new savings account titlled the “First United Methodist Church Assistance Fund" has been set up at Liberty National Bank to collect donations for the rebuilding of the Ada First UM church building and for the replacement of contents and other church related supplies and materials.

Additionally, the West Ohio UM Conference is collecting donations for Ada First via an Online Donation Form. This action is part of the conference's Church Builders Club. To help publicize our need for assistance, the conference also produced a newsletter specifically about Ada First: Ada First Church Builders Cliub Newsletter. Thanks to some very talented and dedicated people at Ohio Northern University’s radio station WONB 94.9 FM and the English Chapel, worship services for Ada First United Methodist (held at ONU's English Chapel) will continue to be carried live on 94.9 FM radio. My dear brothers and sisters of sweet Ada First,
Here's the most important thing - we are all safe. Our children of the Head Start program were safely shepherded from the church to the Library across the street by their teachers. The fire fighters brought their absolute best. And while doing their best for us, watched over our neighbors. AND, our God is with us, leading the way, whispering to our souls and being faithful through it all.
The great sadness is our beloved church building is gone. This is the place that for over 100 years, housed and cared for our worship, our weddings, our baptisms, our funerals ... faithfully caring for each and every one. And that's only part of what she cared for. The community found her doors open and welcoming, a place to meet, a place to eat, a place to come together. Such faithfulness should bring tears and does bring tears.
